Foundations and identity

“ The confederation claims to adhere to and draws its inspiration from the principles of the social and Christian morality ”
( article 1st of the statutes )

What does this inspiration mean for CFTC ?

The consciousness of a universal brotherhood between men, of our responsibility towards the future that our rights are the counterpart of the duties that we have towards others, that our personal blooming depends on the capacity of everybody to favour the blooming of others .

A requirement for justice for everyone and in particular for the most fragile .

The choice of solidarity .

Which points of reference does CFTC give ?

One priority : the weakest and the most destitute .

3 principles of action :
- the respect of the dignity of every person :
This dignity falls within the province of the sacred : it’s not the concern of age, or intelligence, or fortune, or physical appearance, or sensitiveness …
- the service of common good :
Favour the blooming of every man and of every group ,
recognize the rights of all for the goods of the world ,
opt for the sustainable development …
- the subsidiarity : give their full liberty of action to the persons and to the basic communities or to the intermediary bodies ( family, company, associations, local authorities … ) without challenging the solidarity .

Why this inspiration from the social and Christian morality ?

-    It is the legacy of our history .
-    It incites to the development of the solidarity and to the blooming of people .
-    It doesn’t impose any religious practices or convictions .
-    It clarifies the implementation of fundamental values for a world more human and fairer : the solidarity, the freedom, the responsibility, the social justice, the democratic participation, the durability or the requirement for a sustainable development .
-    It favours positive behaviours : sacrifice oneself, be constructive, be preoccupied with the truth, dare to trust the others, be open and unifier, take one’s decisions in full independence towards every external group …
